About inkyplume and Julie
Julie Futoran-Ulsted aka inkyplume, is a Pacific Northwest-based artist with a lifelong love of nature, design, and pattern. Influenced by her artistic family and experiences working in her parents’ upscale women’s boutique, Julie honed her aesthetic vision from a young age. Her extensive travels across Europe, Southeast Asia, and stints living in Japan and Mexico have enriched her artistic repertoire and inspired her to capture diverse cultures’ aesthetics and flora and fauna through vibrant, textured art, illustrations, and surface designs. Julie aims to bring joy through her art and the colors she uses. Julie currently lives with her husband Adrian, 10-year old daughter Sonja, and their two puppies, A Cuppa Coffee and Biscotti in western upstate New York.
